Yakubu Dogara, Thursday evening, met with the Comrade Ayuba Wabba-led faction of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, calling on the Labour leaders to suspend the strike against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government’s hike in the pump price of petrol, which saw the essential commodity hiked from N86.50 to N145 per litre. Today, made it the Day 2 of the strike, as the NLC, 12 midnight on Wednesday, asked its members across the 36 States, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to down tools in protest against the hike in petrol pump price. Dogara, who met with the labour leaders, along side members of the House Ad-Hoc Committee on Deregulation, however, urged them to suspend the strike, while negotiations continue with the federal government.
